If you are 3 cms dialated will the hospital keep you?

If your 37 weeks, and you go to the hospital with irregular contractions and your 3 cms dialated, will the hospital keep you, or will they send you home?

  1. Nope. I'm 4cm and have been home, waiting for 10 days now.
  2. If you are not having regular contractions, and if they do a couple of checks that show no change in the cervix, then no, they will not keep you. They only keep you if you are actively laboring.
  3. They will send you home...4cm is considered active labor with regular contractions
  4. most likely not it depends on if your water broke and you have to have regular contractions
  5. It depends on the hospital, but they would probably send you home. I was 3 cm dilated last Thursday at my appointment and I'm at home. If you're not having regular contractions or your water hasn't broken then you'd probably be wasting a trip to the hospital.
  6. It all depends on the situation! If your labour and contractions are progressing quickly, they will likely keep you, but if nothing is happening, then they may just send you home. -irregular contractions=braxton hicks. Every doctor and every situation is different!
  7. It depends on the dr and the hospital. I was dialated to a 5 completely effaced and the dr said he was sending me home...luckily I argued and didn't go home!! Most likely they would keep you to monitor your contractions and see if they are making you dialate if your not dialating they will send you home.
  8. No they will not keep you, I was 4 cm and they sent me home, but I had so many false labors that I almost had my son at home in the tub, and by the time I got to the hospital I was 71/2 cm, and 30 minutes later he was out and screaming at the top of his lungs! It will be soon enough! Congrats and Good Luck!
  9. 4 cm. unless you have somthing that might risk the baby's or your heath best to make a emegency doctor appointment
  10. They'll send you home. If your contractions aren't consistent, they won't keep you there.
  11. ur going home...i believe you have 2 have active contractions or something like that but at 3 cm ur most likely going to go home unless u keep dilating
  12. if your contractions are irregular, they will most likely make you walk until they become regular, then they will recheck you, it is alot more to do with the contractions, there regularity and severity than the amt. of centimeters you are unless your like 9 or 10. so be prepared, they may even try to stop your contractions since you still have 3 weeks to go. then send you home on bedrest.
  13. no, they will prob send you home. they will only keep you if your contractions are regular and are between 4-5 minutes apart. if you are having contractions that stop you in your tracks, pressure in your bottom(vaginal-area), or are passing blood then go into the labor and delivery triage just to make sure whether or not you're in labor
